Daintree Rainforest

Daintree Rainforest, originally uploaded by claire moss.

Here's a photo that I've transferred across from Flickr. After scanning through various rainforest photos, I came across this one which reminded me of a trip to North Queensland a few years ago. I then followed the instructions on how to post the image to my blog and it worked!!

# 9 Finding feeds

I think that finding feeds can be very time consuming. I had a go at searching feed finders such as Feedster, Topix.net, Google Blog Search and Technorati. I had the most success with Google Blog search. Overall, I was able to find and add 10 library related news feeds to my bloglines account

# 8 RSS and Newsreaders

I have now set myself up with a bloglines account which can be found at: www.bloglines.com/public/ellik. This part was easy, however, finding and adding newsreads was a bit more difficult and time consuming. After a while, I got the hang of how to add RSS feeds to my blogline account and have 12 feeds that I can refer to (3 of these are blogs of co-workers). I can definately see the benefits in this service as a way of getting regular updated information without having to carry out individual searches every time

# 7 Blog about technology

A part of my job is to run internet sessions for members of the public and so by me learning about new technologies allows me to pass on to others some of the new and fun ways that we can use the internet. Web tools such as Blogs, Flickr, Mashups, etc. are all technologies that I now know a bit more about and with the popularity of digital photography, I now understand more about uploading photos to websites and then posting them into blogs which I think people are really interested in. I'm hoping to keep utilising these tools myself so that they will become second nature just like emails have

# 6 More Flickr Fun

Now that I've learnt all about Flickr mashups and 3rd party tools, I've created my own trading card using Trading Card Maker. It was very easy as all I had to do was to follow a few simple instructions, select and upload my photo, choose the colour and layout and add the text

# 5 Flickr

I've just created a Flickr account and added a couple of photos
